If I had a nickel (hey, I think I do) for every time someone asked me: "Lauren......how can I get started in Internet Marketing - I know absolutely nothing about computers or marketing let alone Internet Marketing, but I keep hearing how easy it is. What should I do?

First off, it is true....it is incredibly easy. But just like with anything else, you should not go into it blindly and recklessly. Have a plan. If you fail to plan, then plan to fail.

The first thing you should do is a little research for a mentor with a great program that teaches Affiliate Marketing. Do a Google search, pick about 5 or 6 names, and then research them. What you are looking for is a mentor with a program that teaches through video tutorials. Knowledge is retained much quicker and much deeper with a visual aid to go along with the audio. Next make sure there is a Help Desk Website or an 800 number for when you have questions. Your mentor should have weekly or biweekly Live Training Calls as well. Lastly find out how long he/she has been doing this and how much money they are earning on a monthly basis. They should have a couple years behind them, and bringing in an obscene income each month. There are 3 major reasons why Affiliate is the way to go.

1) You don't have to come up with your own product. That can be very time consuming, and you do not have time for that just starting out. You promote other people's products, focusing on informational and digital products, through promoting websites like Clickbank and Pay.com. This is the fastest and easiest way to make money online.

2) You can create multiple streams of income with very little effort, by being an affiliate, simply by being a great promoter. You give the right market what they want, solving a problem for them. Most any website offers an affiliate program, but you will find Clickbank, Pay.com and Commission Junction pay a better percentage.

3) VERY LOW START UP COST. When you stop and think about it, it is truly amazing that you can become financially free with such low start up cost. In affiliate marketing, any component websites are either free or a one time low cost fee. As your income streams grow, you can implement more elaborate features into your cash machine. Nowhere else on Earth will you find this kind of income, costing next to nothing to start up.

That's it! Don't complicate things, get with your mentors Affiliate Program, and FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS they provide. They wouldn't take the time to put it into your training if it wasn't necessary. By the way, the #1 reason why people fail at Affiliate Marketing or any other Internet Business is by not following ALL the instructions. Not because the system doesn't work, because it has been proven over and over again, believe me. Failure by simply NOT following all the instructions. Keep that in mind as you start to pick and choose which videos you will and will not watch. Be a sponge and absorb everything presented to you.
